Había escuchado y leído muchas cosas acerca de este sketch, pero hasta hoy lo he podido ver... es mejor de lo que esperaba.
El 17 de Diciembre del 2005, apareció este rap en Saturday Night Live, el cual fue escrito y dirigido por los chicos de The Lonely Island Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer y Jorma Taccone junto con Chris Parnell.
'The Chronic-what?-cles of Narnia' se convirtió en todo un fenómeno rápidamente.
El corto comenzó a circular por internet, poco después NBC lo colocó en la página principal de su sitio web.
Días después 'Lazy Sunday' fue agregado a iTunes como regalo navideño de NBC Universal y Saturday Night Live.
Las ventas de Magnolia Bakery, Mr Pibb, Red Vines y Las Crónicas de Narnia se dispararon, además de que comenzaron a vender las ya famosas camisetas con la leyenda 'crazy delicious'.
Y más recientemente apareció 'Lazy Monday', una respuesta a 'Lazy Sunday' hecho por un grupo de jóvenes (Supdawg) de la Costa Oeste: Mark Feuerstein, Adam Stein y Sam Friedlander. Pueden ver el video, bajar el mp3 y leer la letra de la canción en la página Narnia Rap Battle.
The Lonely Island, (The Dudes) han escrito pilotos para FOX y Comedy Central, y en el 2005, gracias a una recomendación de Jimmy Fallon, fueron contratados en Saturday Night Live.
Gran escándalo han causado y parece que son capaces de mucho más. Estos tres jóvenes le han brindado algo de frescura a un Saturday Night Live que se ha vuelto aburrido, predecible y repetitivo.
